Peling is part of Northeast India, which is beautiful as it has the radiant Himalayan ranges and is a gateway to Southeast Asia. It’s called the Land of Sisters and one brother, Sikkim. It has stunning landscapes. You can experience the tribal communities’ rich traditions and meals. It has abundant beauty and breathtaking views. They have a great blend of nature and spirituality. 

Sikkim has some unique flora/fauna, organic farming, ancient monasteries, and very rich biodiversity. Its a serene and adventurous tourist destination. A paradise is one that one can visit to enjoy lush green scenery and snow-capped mountains.

An enthralling and spellbound Peling is a hill station in Sikkim. With misty mountains, cool air breeze, lush greens, and trails with scenery. Tranquil in nature, it has some cascading waterfalls, tea gardens, great colonial architecture, and lovely opportunities for birdwatching, wake up with sunrises, and slow down with a sundowner.

Many mountaineers and trekkers come here to summit at various peaks. As a tourist, you can have a look at the breathtaking Mt Kanchenjunga. It is in the Gyalshing district of Sikkim. It’s high at an altitude of 2,150m. You can also drive up to from Gangtok, not very far, just about 131 km. You will experience some rich Buddhist culture, heritage, and interact with Sikkhimese and Tibetan communities.

Places to Visit in Peling

One can have a great view of Mount Kanchenjunga .It’s the world’s third-highest mountain. It has spiritual significance, too. Kanchenjunga has a deep meaning and is known as the Five Treasures of Snow. 

You can come across several monasteries like Pemayangtse. An ancient Nyingma monastery. It has old architectural structures and statues. It’s a very peaceful and spiritual experience. Placed in the most magical form on the ridge, just 4 kms. Its an island of esoteric teaching.

In 1697 AD, another monastery was built, which is the oldest. You will come across the Sanga Choeling monastery. The aerial view of the snowy peaks is very close to each other, and one can touch them. You can also see the ruins of the Rabdentse Palace, the leafless mystery of Khecheopalrey Lake, and Singshore Bridge (which second highest gorge bridge of Asia). Visitors and tourists go spellbound after seeing the view. 

There is a two-storey formation of Sangay waterfalls, which is a secret cascade of Khanchendzongha. They become a great space for ambience, healing, and meditation in the Sangha Choling monastery. This is a great attraction for tourists to visit again. It also acts as a base for many treks. Pelling Skywalk is an amazing tourist attraction. It has a stunning view while you walk to the Chenrezig statue. Its the tallest statue of Avalokiteshvara. (137ft) in the world. It’s also India’s first glass skywalk.

The world’s highest peak, Mount Everest, is visible on a clear day. You will also capture Lhoste, Makalu, Janu, Rathong, Kabru, Pandim, Simvo, and Siniolchu.

Nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts make sure to visit Peling. Kanchenjunga waterfalls is must go tourist place which is just 20 kms. It’s a local sightseeing trip one can do. Its high falling water flow is a great attraction throughout the year. Changey Falls is another serene waterfall that’s accessible via a downhill trek in the lush forests.

How to reach up to Peling

By road, you can drive up from Gangtok, Siliguri, and Darjeeling. You can fly up from your city to Bagdogra airport and then take a taxi  Or if you love the old train travel tradition, then take it till Jalpaiguri station. Hop into local taxis to your destination and enjoy the amazing views and Himalayan journey.
