Assam – heaven on earth right up on the mountains.Beauty of Northeast

Assam

Assam hails towards the Northeast of India. A drive through the green ranges with fresh breeze and weather is a perfect trip. But yes, you need to like being on those high-range mountains, as some hate the turns and twists. The Moutains itself has its own beauty and charm. Some love the sea, some love city hustle, while others love and crave to go to the mountains.

Living up there is another world. The silence, the peace, the serenity. It’s all about pahadi life. The traditions, cultures, and way of living are also very different from the city world.

As a country, we are lucky that in almost all states we have some or other area that’s called a hill station at low and high altitudes.

Like we’ve heard and seen, many states themselves are in the mountain areas, just like Assam.

Beauty lies in Assam

With its geographic placement on the map, it stands unique and different. The beauty is what attracts many tourists to visit this place. Everyone dreams of visiting the North East and the cities in it. It’s always a plan to cover the entire country, and the Northeast is definitely a yes. Bordering other countries, it has a special place in the heart.

Many mountaineers and trekkers travel all the way to do some famous summits, treks, and trails, while some tourists just want to explore the entire state.

From Green fields to dense forests to bamboo creations, it can take you aback with its popular local life and traditions.

Assam: a joyful green space

Open air and up on top of the mountains, this state sees thousands of tourists year round the clock. With the development and growth of this state, many have even stayed back to explore work opportunities or get settled here for life. The cleanness in the air and positivity amongst the people make it the best place one can live.

It happens to have the most unique form of culture that one can stay here and explore. Be it in markets, temples, tourist places, or homestays, you will come across the warmth and humble gestures. You will always meet people who are soft-spoken with a sweet smile. With locals making the best handicrafts, it won’t disappoint you while you shop.

Assam gives you a great opportunity to see some amazing birds, wildlife, and flora and fauna. You will see some mesmerising sunsets and sunrises alongside the beautiful mountain peaks. The slow-fading smoke coming out of the Assamese huts and green fields is going to be all part of your picture background. Snowcapped mountains can make you thrill to go higher here.

The forests here are dense and quite which makes it so apt to witness thousands of butterflies in the day and fireflies in the dark.

As you walk through the mighty ranges and trails, you will experience a soft smell of Assam’s best flowers and tree breeds.

You pull over and stop by the side of the road; you’re bound to see the border between Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh. Nagaland, Meghalaya, Tripura, and Manipur are not that far. It is also quite close to the state of West Bengal and Bangladesh.

This river is quite massive in its area and is part of Assam. It’s a waterway that runs across the valley. You will be astonished to see this beauty as you sit by and think about life. It’s a transboundary. You can also read about Majuli Island and learn about its real facts and the way people are living a beautiful life on that island.

Can you believe it also has a peacock island called Umananda?

Surrounded by the greens, Assam can get you to fall in love with it.

If you love elephants, then you can’t miss the Kaziranga National Park and book your jeep safari. Camp over, stay in nearby hotels, and enjoy local food. From tigers to rhinos, which are one-horned, you also can’t miss the Manas National Park. Here you will see some rare birds too. The one-horned rhinos are huge and a turbulence but you can see them at the Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary.

Visit Sivasagar and see the kingdom of the Old Ahoms. You will get to see some tall brick structures and palaces. It’s known as the Rang Ghar and Talatal Ghar.

There are some very famous temples across the state; especially you should visit the Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati. If you’re a tea lover or not, you should trail through the tea gardens in Jorhat and buy some fine silk clothes from Sualkuchi village.
