Janmashtami - Krishna Janam

For Hindus, Lord Krishna is the Supreme God and is an avatar of Lord Vishnu. His life depicts love, compassion, protection, and divine joy. With a peacock crown on his head of a peacock and yellow clothes, he was dark blue and the most handsome god.

He was born in Mathura, and he was raised in Vrindavan. He was blessed to be loved by Devaki, Vasudeva, Nanda, and Yashoda.  Lord Krishna loved cows and spent his time in the cowshed. He loved playing the flute and was devoted to helping the Gopis. His love for Radha and their eternal bond depict the deep connection one can build to their soul and divine connection in their lives.  He is known as a spiritual guide to Arjuna in the Mahabharata war. He also was Charioteer. His teachings have been profound on the path to duty, dharma, devotion, and selflessness. These are mentioned in the sacred Bhagavad Geeta.

Janmashtami - a virbant celebration

Mathura and Vrindavan are two places of mythological importance, especially when we talk about Lord Krishna. These cities are in Uttar Pradesh and have the spiritual aura of the birthplace. The Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi is what people often want to visit and take darshan of. It’s an old prison cell where he was born. Whereas Mathura is also known as Sapta Puri.

In the early years, this was an ancient capital, and the Surasena used to run its kingdom. It was a path for trade, Buddhist art, and culture. You will also get to see the Yamuna River that flows in various locations here. Especially at the Vishram Ghat.

In this place, Lord Krishna spent his youthful days grazing cows and divine plays of his Leela and consorting with Radha. Can you believe there are around 5000 temples here in this town?

But mainly, you can’t miss the vibrant celebrations here during Janmashtami. Both cities, Mathura and Vrindavan, have a living tradition of celebrating the Krishna Janmashtami. People from across the world who love Lord Krishna visit during the month of august -September.

You can’t miss the Night Abhishek, Jhulan Utsav, The beautiful jhakis, and processions. Nand Utsav and Dahi Handi. So get your pre-bookings done by Train or bus to Mathura/Vrindavan. The closest are Agra and Delhi.
